Farwell, Lindsay Clancy and Alex Murdaugh: One of These Cases Dies This Month

Eleven jurors were ready to find Lindsay Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity, and her lawyers now want the murder charges thrown out for good. Eric Faddis, a defense attorney and former prosecutor, is with me on the Lindsay Clancy mistrial, Matthew Farwell and Alex Murdaugh. Clancy's lawyers told Judge William Sullivan on November 2nd he should have questioned the lone holdout or seated an alternate instead of declaring a mistrial.

Matthew Farwell's closing arguments are Friday, November 6th. Prosecutors say the former Stoughton detective strangled Sandra Birchmore, and the lobby camera shows him walking in a minute after her 9:13 text and out at 9:43. Farwell's lawyers say the 2021 trooper saw no signs of a struggle.

Alex Murdaugh's four murder indictments come up November 13th. His lawyers argue the lead SLED agent misled the grand jury in July 2022 by describing Maggie's and Paul's blood on a shirt his own lab had tested and found no human blood on. Eric tells me who never sees another jury.
