Sandra Birchmore Was Planning for a Baby Who Would Never Come Home

Prosecutors in the Matthew Farwell trial say Sandra Birchmore spent the evening of February 1st, 2021, searching for baby shower venues and children's furniture, and that she left no note. By 9:43 p.m., they say, she was dead and Farwell was walking out of her building on camera.

Eric Faddis, a defense attorney and former prosecutor, takes the five hardest facts in the government's case and argues each one the way Farwell's lawyers will have to in closing arguments on Friday, November 6th.

The government says the former Stoughton detective strangled Sandra, 23 and pregnant, and staged her death as a hanging. His defense says he came to tell her the baby wasn't his and that she took her own life after he was gone.

He told the judge November 4th he won't testify. And prosecutors say that about ninety minutes before he walked into her lobby, Sandra texted him asking him to buy the outfit the baby would wear home from the hospital.
