Two Farwell Brothers Were Involved With Sandra Birchmore. Only One Was Charged.

Matthew Farwell is charged with killing a witness, which means prosecutors have to prove he killed Sandra Birchmore to keep her from going to federal authorities. His lawyers told the jury the only threat the government could point to was Sandra telling his wife, and his wife is not a federal law enforcement officer.

Eric Faddis, a defense attorney and former prosecutor, takes the prosecution's side on each of the defense's best arguments in the Farwell trial, with closings Friday, November 6th.

The former Stoughton detective is accused of strangling Sandra, 23 and pregnant, in her Canton apartment on February 1st, 2021, and staging it to look like she hanged herself. The defense says she took her own life after he left.

Eric also takes on the medical examiner who ruled suicide and then undetermined, and Farwell's twin brother William, who testified with immunity about his own relationship with Sandra. The state police lab never checked William's DNA against the strap it linked to Matthew.
