What Farwell’s Pathologist Called the Difference Seeing Sandra’s Strap Made
05 nov 2026 · 00:20:39
Dr. Thomas Andrew, the pathologist who closed out Matthew Farwell’s defense, said on November 4th that the findings from Sandra Birchmore’s autopsy favor suicide. Under cross-examination he said he’d first seen the strap from her neck in person that same day, and he had a word for what seeing it changed. That morning, digital forensics examiner Daniel Loper testified that the investigators who had Sandra’s MacBook in 2021 turned it on and connected it to a network. He told jurors Sandra typed her suicide ribbon search herself, against the prosecution expert’s autocomplete testimony. On cross, prosecutor Brian Fogerty raised a search on Farwell’s phone, five days after Sandra was found, about whether Cellebrite can recover deleted iMessages. He also pointed to texts Farwell sent telling Sandra to clear out their messages, which are on her phone and not on his. Farwell declined to testify, and closings are Friday, November 6th.
